I liked the setting of this book。 It still had the trademark twists and turns that the author is known for but the time period lent itself well to a story。 I appreciated the timeline of this book。 Normally the author packs everything into a matter of days but the events in this book built to such a boiling point。 There wasn't a big gotcha moment at the end because it was pretty obvious who had done what but it was an engrossing story throughout。 I liked the setting of this book。 It still had the trademark twists and turns that the author is known for but the time period lent itself well to a story。 I appreciated the timeline of this book。 Normally the author packs everything into a matter of days but the events in this book built to such a boiling point。 There wasn't a big gotcha moment at the end because it was pretty obvious who had done what but it was an engrossing story throughout。 。。。more

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley- thank you! I love Sandra Brown's books and am always eager to read one。 This one felt different than her other reads with the main focus being bootlegging in the 1920s。 The romance felt like it took a backseat compared to other novels。 That said, it was interesting, and some things at the end really surprised。 It's not quite five stars for me because it did feel long at times。 I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley- thank you! K-BRC,
As a long-time fan of Sandra Brown, I was eager to read this。 It did not disappoint。 It was a rollicking romp through the days of prohibition with a WWI soldier accused of a murder he didn’t commit。 And a highly charged relationship with a straight-laced strong woman in Foley, TX。 It was delightfully addictive 5-star read。
Darren,
I enjoyed reading this book。 It had a good story to it。 I liked the variety of characters in it。 It was a well written book。 It too me longer than normal to read because some of the chapters were long。
Debra Berding,
I am a fan of this author but not really a fan of historical fiction。 Until I read this book。 I loved the characters, the setting, the time period and the ending。 This book was a game-changer for me。 I really liked it。

Book 75 of 2021When I think of the most consistent authors out there, @SandraBrown is at the top of the list。 I am always drawn into her rich storyline and multi-layer characters。 I love the unexpected romance, the action, the drama。 It's all SO GOOD。 But then, I saw the synopsis for this book, and I was worried。 So many authors are branching out to try new things, and these experiments have not been panning out well for the readers。 Brown has never written historical fiction, and because it's a Book 75 of 2021When I think of the most consistent authors out there, @SandraBrown is at the top of the list。 I am always drawn into her rich storyline and multi-layer characters。 I love the unexpected romance, the action, the drama。 It's all SO GOOD。 But then, I saw the synopsis for this book, and I was worried。 So many authors are branching out to try new things, and these experiments have not been panning out well for the readers。 Brown has never written historical fiction, and because it's a tricky genre (it can be really good or really bad), I was obviously concerned。 But why would I be? How silly of me。 @SandraBrown knocked it out of the part。 As a friend of mine said, the focus for Brown is always on the characters-- she writes the storylines of fascinating people, and the rest is just a backdrop that enhances the overall plot。 This was no different。 The 1920's twist gave the story a lot of context -- prohibition, the gun-slingers and those who break the law。 There was so much thought put into the details of this time -- men coming back from war, how people of the town interact with each other, medical conditions, etc。 I kept thinking of my love for Dr。 Quinn throughout this book, even though the time period was different。 There were plenty of surprises to be sure, but the pacing of this book was different than other Brown books。 But that was because of the time period and how the pieces of the story came together。 It was more unique than it was a hinderance, so I was okay with it。 Overall, I think that Brown nailed the execution of this time period, these people and a storyline that I loved hearing about。 I can see this being made into a movie, easily-- and I would love it!Rating -- five starsFormat -- audiobook (my only critique would be that this was not my favorite audiobook narrator, so part of me wants to take away a half a point, but I eventually got used to this male voice; I wanted a female narrator for Laurel, more than I wanted a male narrator for Thatcher) 。。。more

I’m a fan of Sandra Brown and love her books。 This one has a historical twist, which was an added bonus。 I loved the cast of characters and the whole backdrop of the prohibition。 Brown always does a slow burn romance in there too and you got to love cowboy Thatcher in this particular one。 Hope Brown makes a sequel with that bang of an ending!

4。5 STARSFinally another worthy Sandra Brown! Loved it。 But I'll have to admit the historic backdrop and the prohibition storyline threw me for a loop。 I suspect that many SB followers may have an issue with this。 I did not。 I found it a refreshing step outside of the box。 The story was so dark and twisted。 Almost reminded times of a Steinbeck。 Loved the characters, and the way she spread the guilt around。 I mean there wasn't one character that wasn't breaking some kind of law。 Lots of good peop 4。5 STARSFinally another worthy Sandra Brown! Debbie,
I was excited to get my hands on this historical fiction by this talented author。 The Prohibition era was a book that appealed to me because this time period is not often written about。 Although it was well researched, it seemed to move along slowly and was too long。 It would probably make a great movie or mini-series。 Sorry to say I abandoned it at 60% #BlindTiger #NetGalley

I really loved the characters in this book especially Thatcher and the Sheriff。 When I first started reading it I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy a book from the prohibition era but the way the story unfolded and the characters were developed it became more enjoyable as I moved on。 It was an original idea with believable characters。 I have read a lot of Sandra Brown books and I would put this one in the top five。 I really loved the characters in this book especially Thatcher and the Sheriff。 When I first started reading it I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy a book from the prohibition era but the way the story unfolded and the characters were developed it became more enjoyable as I moved on。 It was an original idea with believable characters。 I have read a lot of Sandra Brown books and I would put this one in the top five。 。。。more

It wouldn’t be a Sandra Brown novel without some huggin’ and kissin’ all rolled into a tension-filled and scorching romance。 The Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in January 1919 and enacted in January 1920, outlawed the “manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors。” Prohibition is now the law of the land, but not everyone is happy with the change – and conflicts and lawlessness become the modus operandi deep in the heart of Texas。 With the end of World War I, Thatcher Hutton is now making his way homeward to the ranch where he grew up。 But, before the train reaches its destination, he finds himself stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time in the little town of Foley, Texas at the beginning of Prohibition in 1920。 As readers have come to expect, Brown pens another strong rugged and silent type of sexy as heck hero with a quick wit and respected for his honesty and integrity。 Laurel Plummer, a recent widow with a new baby, might appear demure and just another pretty face – but watch out because this gal's got plenty of fire in her belly。 Don’t forget that dynamite comes in small packages。 Both Laurel and Thatcher are kick-ass characters。 Sparks fly between these two when they first meet suddenly and unexpectedly。 Certain events lead them in different directions, and through no fault of their own, they end up on opposite sides of the law。 But true love always finds a way – even during the wildest and most dangerous times。Step back in time with another terrific novel from Sandra Brown that you won’t be able to put down。 Blind Tiger is 512-pages of suspense, excitement, danger, romance and a real humdinger chock-full of historical details, murder and mayhem, lowdown mean and dirty scoundrels, bootleggers and moonshiners, crooked double-crossing politicians and lawmen, along with an evil and horrid madam that runs the local speakeasy, who had me shaking in my slippers。 A fascinating story of days gone by and sure to be another chartbuster for Brown。 Hip-Hip-Hooray for another prize-winning release from Sandra Brown, who continues to remain at the top of her game! 。。。more

As many who have already reviewed this book, I am a big SB fan and believe I have read all if not most of her books。 But this book just didn't hit the target (pun intended) for me, so only 3 stars。 First the good - I thought the main character of Thatcher Hutton was well written, fully developed and an honorable man。 I liked his story, it was believable for a post WW I soldier。 His relationship with the sheriff Bill Amos was also very well done and I liked the sheriff。 Some of the secondary char As many who have already reviewed this book, I am a big SB fan and believe I have read all if not most of her books。 But this book just didn't hit the target (pun intended) for me, so only 3 stars。 First the good - I thought the main character of Thatcher Hutton was well written, fully developed and an honorable man。 I liked his story, it was believable for a post WW I soldier。 His relationship with the sheriff Bill Amos was also very well done and I liked the sheriff。 Some of the secondary characters were very well written and described like Irv, Ernie & Corrine。 But here are my reasons for only 3 stars - this book was way too long - over 500 pages in the hardcover edition。 The chemistry between Thatcher & Laurel seemed very one-sided and all on his part。 I don't think Laurel was one of SB's best written female characters。 I wasn't that enamored with the time period of prohibition in Texas in 1920 and I now know way more than I ever need to know about moonshine and how stills works。 Finally, I thought the amount of brutality to women in this book was over the top in my opinion。 I am sure it has happened and was accurately described, but for me it didn't add to the story。 So a little disappointed in this one。 However, this would probably make for a great TV mini series。 。。。more
